Basile unhappy with 'Wawa Aba'
Published in FilGoal on 27 - 03 - 2008

Argentina coach Alfio Basile was unhappy with the ball used in his side's 2-0 victory over Egypt in Wednesday's friendly game.
The match was played with Adidas' Wawa Aba, which sparked a major debate over its efficiency when first used during the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
"Please set certain standards for manufacturing those objects so that all teams play with the same type of balls," Basile said.
"The ball used in our match against Egypt looked like a deflated balloon," he was quoted as saying by Argentina Football Association website.
Useful Experience
Basile said he was content at having the chance to introduce new tactics against Egypt.
"The match was useful because I tried different tactics, like putting Gago in a more advanced role and giving Maxi Rodriguez wide duties."
Two second-half goals from Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Burdisso were enough to hand the two-time world champions the victory at Cairo Stadium.
The former Boca Juniors tactician admitted his side struggled for large periods in the game but hailed his players' character.
"We didn't play well in the first half. We found difficulty in controlling the ball and Egypt managed to reach our 18-yard box."
"We were also bad in the first 15 minutes of the second period but found our rhythm afterwards and scored two goals, thanks to the players' determination to settle the match."
