Werder Bremen playmaker Diego is set to turn down Juventus after being courted by Spanish giants Real Madrid. Football Italia revealed that Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco traveled to Bremen to hold talks with the Brazilian ace. According to the report Juve are ready to cash $35m to bring the 23-year old playmaker to Turin. Although, it seems that Diego has agreed terms with Real Madrid directors who will start talks with Werder Bremen bosses. The Merengues coach Bernd Schuster asked for the signing of a new playmaker and identified Chelsea's Michael Ballack, Hamburg's Rafael Van Der Vaart and Diego as possible targets. Diego was named the Bundesliga player of the season in 2006/2007 and has been in a prolific form this season scoring 10 goals in 21 appearances.
