Ekrami makes Feyenoord U-turn

Egyptian goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami said he will consider staying at Feyenoord after coach Bert van Marwijk announced that he will leave the Dutch side after the end of the season.
Van Marwijk has recently agreed a two-year contract to succeed Marco van Basten as Holland coach following Euro 2008 finals in Switzerland and Austria.
Former Ahli goalie Ekrami believes he will have a chance to feature on a more regular basis when Van Marwijk steps down in July.
"Van Marwijk prefers to field Henk Timmer, so when he departs I may have a chance to prove my worth," Ekrami told FilGoal.com in a phone interview on Wednesday.
"I initially decided to leave Feyenoord at the end of the season due to lack of first-team football, but Van Marwijk's departure gave me hope of returning to the fold."
Ekrami has been recently linked with a return to Ahli after the Red Devils' regular keeper Essam Al-Hadari opted to move to Swiss side Sion without the club's approval.
