Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel saved three penalties to help his team beat Sevilla 3-2 after having drawn 5-5 on aggregate on Tuesday. Daniel Alves curled in a free kick after only five minutes and Malian midfielder Seydou Keita fired a long-range shot to give Sevilla a 2-0 after only 9 minutes. Deived pulled one back from inside the area to bring his side back in the game after a shocking start. Frederic Kanoute restored the two-goal advantage after intercepting Alves cross on his shot and smashing a volley in the back of the net. But Deived had a word to say as he made it 3-2 in the 79th minute forcing both sides to extra-times. There were a few chances in the extra 30 minutes and the penalties had to separate them. Demirel blocked Escude, Maresca and Alves chances to drive Fenerbahce to the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.
