New CAN to start in 2009

The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced that the finals of the new African Nations Championship (CHAN) will take place in Ivory Coast starting from March 22nd, 2009.
The competition will only feature footballers plying their trade inside the Dark Continent, and should be played every two years.
The final phase of the competition will see eight teams vying for the title, while the Preliminary round consists of 30 teams.
CAF's decisions came during a board meeting in Tunis.
