Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan said on Friday he accepts the fine imposed on him by Anderlecht due to his late return from international duty. "I'm a professional player. I know my duties and rights very well," Hassan told FilGoal.com. "Anderlecht are not mistaken to fine me, they apply the club's internal regulations." The 32-year-old midfielder contributed to Egypt's sixth African Cup of Nations triumph in Ghana. He should have returned to Anderlecht after the tournament's finale, but a calf injury delayed his arrival in Belgium. "Although the injury was the main reason behind my late return, I fully accept the fine," Hassan insisted. "The club's general manager understood my situation, but rules should apply to everybody." The former Besiktas man did not disclose the amount of the fine, but Belgian reports indicated that it was a hefty one.
"I put the whole matter behind me to concentrate on Anderlecht's upcoming commitments on the local and international stages," he added. The Belgian champions are set to face German giants Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup round of 16. Al-Hadari Shock Hassan said he was shocked after learning Essam Al-Hadari's shocking departure from Ahli. The Egypt goalie has seemingly invoked a FIFA rule to join Swiss side Sion against the will of Ahli, who are set to take an action against their long-serving guardian. "I was astonished by the news. Al-Hadari never informed me that he thought about leaving Ahli to play abroad," Hassan said. Hassan and Al-Hadari have been Egypt teammates for about ten years. They won a host of titles together with the Pharaohs.
