Mohamed Zidan's Hamburg secured a 3-1 away victory over FC Zurich in the first-leg of the UEFA Cup round of 32 to move close to booking a place in the second round. After a goalless first-half, David Jarolim managed to break the deadlock four minutes after restart. Ivica Olic added the second seven minutes past the hour mark before Piotr Trochowski completed the rout ten minutes later. Eric Hassli scored a late consolation for the hosts but it wasn't enough to help them. Egypt forward Zidan started the game on the bench and was introduced eight minutes from time instead of Croatia striker Olic. The talented Pharaoh has just returned from Ghana after heavily contributing to Egypt's African Cup of Nations triumph. He scored two goals in the tournament's opener against Cameroon before setting-up Mohamed Abou-Treika for the decisive strike against the Indomitable Lions in the final.
