Inter Milan and Roma demonstrated that the Serie A this season will most likely be a two-horse race after winning their rescheduled games on Wednesday. At San Siro, title holders Inter crushed Lazio 3-0 to stay on top of the table. Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic broke the deadlock in the 21st minute after converting a penalty. Brazilian full-back Maicon extended the lead 11 minutes later when he blasted home from close range after connecting with a left-wing corner. Honduran striker David Suazo completed the rout nine minutes after the interval. Roma kept up pace with the Nerazzurri after securing a 2-0 victory over Cagliari. Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Taddei scored twice in the 28th and 36th minutes to help Roma stay in the title race. Inter are on top of the table with 34 points, three ahead of second-placed Roma.
