Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld was annoyed by president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge's criticism following Thursday's 2-2 home draw against Bolton in the UEFA Cup. The former Germany legend slammed Hitzfeld for replacing key players such as Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the final half hour while the Bavarian side was leading 2-1. "I'm really annoyed," Rummenigge had told journalists after the draw. The German tactician wanted to rest some of his men ahead of Stuttgart's clash next Saturday. "I hope I know the basic maths of football and I try to apply that. I believe that I found the right mixture so that we can win in Stuttgart." "It was a reasonable decision. We need to get back on track at Stuttgart after two league draws," added Hitzfeld. Bayern dropped points against Eintracht Frankfurt and Boroussia. Although they are still on top og the Bundesliga standings with 28 points two ahead of second-placed Hamburg.
