Werder Bremen have renewed their interest in signing Bayern Munich out-of-favor striker Lukas Podolski. "We showed a serious interest in Lukas during the summer and that interest doesn't just disappear," Weder Bremen boss Klaus Allofs told Bild am Sonntag. Podolski, who was signed by Bayern last summer, was tipped to be one of the highest-profile strikers in but he never managed to come close to expectations. The 22-year-old striker is also overshadowed by the performances of new recruits Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni who made huge impact with the Bavarian giants. However, Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld assured Podolski that he is part of his plans saying. "You don't win the Bundesliga with just 11 players," the veteran manager said in comment on the situation. The papaer report suggested that Podolski could go to the opposite side. "You saw with Miroslav Klose how well young players develop with us," Allofs explained.
