Werder Bremen football director Klaus Allofs said that his club have no chance of signing Bayern Munich outcast striker Lukas Podolski. Podolski is set to leave Bayern, after the German international failed to earn himself a regular spot in Jurgen Klinsmann's team. "I did my best to sign Podolski in the next transfer window, but it's obvious that Bayern don't want to sell him to another rival club," Allofs was quoted as saying by Bild. Allofs suggested that it is more likely Podolski will be heading back to former club FC Koln in January. Podolski, who came up through the Koln youth ranks, scored 46 goals in 81 games for the club between 2003 and 2006. The 24-year-old then sealed the move to Bayern but the brilliant form of Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni minimized his chances of first team football.
