Spanish giants Barcelona will try to prevent Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o from playing in next year's African Nations Cup. The 26-year-old striker has been ruled out for three months after undergoing a knee surgery and he is expected to be back two or three weeks before the tournament. Barcelona chairman Joan Laporta has declared he wants his number 9 to be available for the rest of the season. "He must first play for Barcelona before the other teams," said Laporta to the club's official website. The Catalan bosses will start negotiations with the Cameroon Football Federation to avoid losing him on national duties especially that the team is in quest to capture trophies after ending last season with no silverware.
