Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate said he expected Mido to have an instant impact on the team, something he already did during the 2-1 victory over Fulham in the Premiership. The Egyptian international marked his debut with a goal ten minutes into the second period before leaving the pitch with a foot injury 15 minutes later. “He given us presence as soon as he walked into the place and that's what I expected when I met him,” Southgate told Sky Sports on Saturday. Mido received a warm welcome from Boro's fans despite playing on the road. His name was their favorite chant through out the game, especially with him testing the keeper a couple of times. “Already you can see the crowd has warmed to him. I thought his all round performance, in the dressing room and everything was excellent," he said. "He's a man, and you need that in your squad.” The 24-year-old striker joined Boro from Tottenham in the midweek on a four-year deal for six million English pounds.
