Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo notched twice to help Argentina come from behind and thrash the United States 4-1 in the Copa America on Thursday. Eddie Johnson put the U.S ahead early in the ninth minute from the spot after he was brought down by Gabriel Milito. Copa America favorites Argentina, who were fielding a full-strength lineup, needed just three minutes to level the score. Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze touched Juan Roman Riquelme's free-kick into the path of Crespo, who made no mistake from close range. He put Argentina ahead six minutes past the hour mark when he latched on to Lionel Messi's superb through pass and slotted past U.S keeper Kasey Keller. Pablo Aimar added the third in the 78th minute with a powerful header after connecting with Heinze's inch-perfect cross. Substitute Carlos Tevez completed the rout five minutes from time after he was released by Riquelme's brilliant long pass before poking home. Earlier in the other Group C game, Roque Santa Cruz bagged hat-trick as Paraguay thumped Colombia 5-0. The Bayern Munich ace scored in the 30th, 47th and 80th minutes before a late double from substitute Salvador Cabanas mounted Colombia's misery.
