Egypt ambassador in Burundi Ahmed Rami suggested two residences for the national team ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers match against Burundi on June 17th. The match was originally due to be held in Burundi but was switched to Rwanda capital Kigali because the biggest stadium in the former country is set to be renovated. However, Rami told the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) officials there are no reservations in any hotel in Kigali because the city will host an international AIDS conference. As a result, the EFA demanded postponing the match or switching it to another country in case Egypt fail to find a suitable hotel near the match's venue. However, EFA secretary general Farouk Abdul-Wahab told FilGoal.com that the Burundian officials have yet to reply. Consequently, Egypt are considering other alternatives. "Rami suggested that Egypt's delegation could stay in a city that is 160 KM from Kigali and transport through domestic flights. However, the EFA members refused this solution because the players will get exhausted," Abdul-Wahab Said. "There is another solution which is the best one available. The embassy could host the delegation."
