Egyptian international defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa is set to extend his stay at Konyaspor and ruled out any possibility of returning to Egypt. “We reached an agreement and I will sign a two-year-contract after the Mauritania game,” said the 34-year-old defender to FilGoal.com. Al-Saqqa revealed that he had an offer from his former club Genclerbirligii but he preferred to stay with Konyaspor. Although he admitted he'll suffer a bit as he'll have to live away from his family as there are no international schools in town for his children. On the other hand Al-Saqqa confirmed he held talks with Zamalek but that was just negotiations. “I made myself clear that we were negotiating and that I'll decide later but I was surprised to hear some officials saying I was very close from joining the club what wasn't true.” Al-Saqqa has been included by Hassan Shehata in the squad that will face Mauritania next Sunday in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
