Defender Ahmed Al-Sayed is close to agreeing a new four-year deal with Ahli, the Egyptian champions' assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri said on Wednesday. "The club opted to renew Al-Sayed's deal now although his contract runs out at the end of next season," Al-Badri told FilGoal.com. Al-Sayed, whose form in Ahli's 2-0 derby loss against arch-rivals Zamalek was disappointing, will miss his side's last Egyptian League game against Ismaili after collecting a second yellow card. Wael Gomaa's absence has been also confirmed after the Egypt international defender sustained a knee injury, to mount Ahli's defensive problems ahead of Ismaili match. Al-Badri, who leads Ahli after Manuel Jose went to Portugal to spend his yearly vacation, is expected to field youngsters in the team's backline as Shadi Mohamed and Emad Al-Nahhas have been rested while Mohamed Sedik is doubtful due to injury. Ahli will seek vengeance for their 3-0 humiliating defeat at the hands of Ismaili at Cairo International Stadium on January seventh, which ended the Cairo giants' two-year unbeaten streak in the league.
