Ittihad are considering fining striker Mahmoud Farouk after he took part in the testimonial of Walid Salah Al-Din without the club's permission. "Farouk skipped the training and went to Cairo to participate in the retirement match and consequently the club's board is considering punishing him because he didn't take permission," Ittihad vice-president Mohamed Moselhi told FilGoal.com on Saturday. "Hesham Hanafi has also participated but he will not be questioned because he was permitted to take part." Many high-profile Egyptian and Arab players were invited to attend the testimonial match, along with Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry. Ittihad fans have launched a scathing attack on Farouk, accusing him of being careless regarding the team's unusual position in such a critical stage of the Egyptian League table. The Alexandria-based club need two points from their remaining two games against Ismaili and Tanta to secure their safety in the league.
