Veteran striker Hossam Hassan has terminated his contract with Ittihad by mutual consent, the Alexandria-based club announced on Thursday. "We agreed that it will be difficult for Hassan to continue with Ittihad following the latest rifts," the club's vice-president Mohamed Moselhi told FilGoal.com. The 41-year-old frontman was involved in several disputes with Ittihad board and the last one proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back. Hassan flew to UAE to take part in a charity match without Ittihad's permission, to the frustration of the club's board. The former Ahli and Zamalek legend decided to leave after learning that he will be summoned to a hearing. According to Moselhi, Hassan is considering hanging up his boots, to bring curtain down on a glorious career. Hassan has played five matches for Ittihad since joining in the close season from Tersana and failed to score any goal.
