Egypt defender Ibrahim Saied revealed his strong desire to rejoin Egyptian and African champions Ahli after ending his European career. Saied, who plays for Turkish side Caykur Rizespor, insisted he is keen to make a comeback to the club he spent his early footballing years with. "I will try my best to seal a move back to Ahli even if the board is not welcoming my return," Saied told FilGoal.com. "I think that the manager's interest in signing me is a clear boost of my chances to join the club where I grew up."
Recent reports in Egypt suggested that Ahli's Portuguese coach Manuel Jose placed Saied in his shortlist of new signings for the next season. The 27-year-old stopper does not have the best of disciplinary records in Egypt, as he has been hit with several bans during his spell with Ahli following continuous problems with officials, managers and even players. Saied spent a short loan spell at Everton in 2003 before joining Ahli's arch-rivals Zamalek in a controversial move one year later after an unsettled period regarding his future. However, the athletic defender is currently enjoying a fine spell at Rizespor, playing regularly for the Turkish league strugglers and considered as a key player since joining them in January.
