Florent Marty put the visitors ahead in the 22nd minute before Kevin Gameiro leveled the score five minutes from time. Moroccan midfielder Yacine Abdessadki notched home from the penalty spot in stoppage time to seal a precious victory for Strasbourg. Egyptian left-winger Ahmed Abou-Mosallam was included in the starting line-up but was replaced in the 65th minute after he was booked three minutes earlier. The former Ahli player has been recently voted Strasbourg Player of March in a poll made on the club's official website. The result maintained Strasbourg's position in third place of the table with 57 points to close on a place in the top flight after a one-year absence.
