Italian side Lazio have opened talks with Zamalek regarding a possible swoop for goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef, Egyptian daily Al-Ahram reported on Friday. The Serie A club have sent a fax to the Cairo giants confirming their interest and demanding to be informed of the fee required by Zamalek to release the 30-year-old custodian. Lazio coach Delio Rossi is reportedly considering a move for Abdul-Monsef to compensate for the expected retirement of veteran keeper Angelo Peruzzi. Abdul-Monsef arrived in Rome earlier this month to undergo a trial period and has seemingly impressed Delio Rossi. Former Egypt boss Marco Tardelli has acted as a mediator between the club and Abdul-Monsef, according to Al-Ahram.
