Abdul-Monsef concedes Lazio defeat

Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef conceded he will not be able to join Lazio because the Italian Serie A side currently have three non European players.
"I'm not waiting for Lazio's reply, it's over because there is no place for another foreigner," Abdul-Monsef told FilGoal.com on Monday.
The 30-year-old keeper has just returned from Italy after undergoing a trial period with Lazio, who currently occupy the third place in the Serie A table.
The Biancocelesti were reportedly interested in signing Abdul-Monsef to compensate for the expected retirement of veteran keeper Angelo Peruzzi.
However, there is still some hope for an Italy move as Abdul-Monsef claimed Catania are the latest club to express their interest.
"My Italian agent showed Catania officials some videos for me and they impressed by my capabilities."
"I couldn't go to undergo another trial period with Catania because my time was very limited," he added.
