Midfielders Mohamed Abou-Treika and Hossam Ashour have given Ahli a timely boost by returning to training on Sunday after missing out on action since returning from Japan. Abou-Treika and Ashour were involved in Sunday's practice as the Egyptian champions prepared for their crucial Egyptian league matches against ENPPI on Tuesday and arch-rivals Zamalek on Saturday. “I'm fit and ready to play in both matches,” Ashour confirmed to FilGoal.com. Meanwhile, Osama Hosni is recuperating from his recurring injuries and winger Mohamed Abdullah had to leave the pitch midway through the session after picking up an injury. Abdullah sustained the injury after a tackle on teammate Ahmed Shedid.
Ashour (C) “I sprained my ankle,” said Abdullah. “The extent of the injury will be determined when I undergo some tests on Monday.” Sunday's training session witnessed the return of suspended midfielder Amr Samaka, who was suspended in November after failing a doping test conducted by CAF. Ahli have announced the player will be indefinitely suspended and put on the team's transfer list. Former Ahli winger Ahmed Abou-Mosallam, who is spending his Christmas vacation in Cairo, also trained with the team on Sunday. Abou-Mosallam is currently playing for French Ligue 2 outfit Strasbourg.
