Egyptian captain Ahmed Hassan scored a goal to help Anderlecht beat Zulte Waregem 3-1 and claim the Belgian Super Cup on Wednesday. The Egyptian midfielder opened the score line for Anderlecht from a 34th minute penalty-kick. Wouter Vandendriessche leveled for Waregem five minutes after restart, but goals from Roland Juhasz and Cameroonian Sebastian Sianni secured the win for Anderlecht. The Super Cup was scheduled for July 22nd, 2006 but was canceled during halftime due to bad weather. Title holders Anderlecht finished the first-half of the Belgian league season in second place with 37 points, three adrift of leaders Genk.
