Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said he is concerned over the lack of fit strikers ahead of his team's UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona in Spain on Tuesday. Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko didn't travel with the team during Saturday's 2-0 Premiership win over Sheffield United. Shevchencko was sidelined with a muscle injury and now chances of Didier Drogba playing look dim after he sustained an injury to his right foot during this weekend's game. Despite the setback, Mourinho remains hopeful both men could recover in time for Chelsea's Champion's League match against the competition's title holders.
Shevchenko "Drogba couldn't play. It is a problem with his foot and he was feeling a lot of pain," Mourinho said according to the official website. "Shevchenko could play on Tuesday or he could miss. We will see. I can have both, I can have one or I can miss both." Mourinho fielded third-choice keeper Henrique Hilario in his side's 1-0 victory over Barcelona at the Stamford Bridge due to the injuries of Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini. "Against Barcelona the first time we played without two keepers. Maybe it is time to play without two strikers and I take the bus," he added.
