Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has said that new signings Michael Ballack and Andriy Shevchenko will not change the Premiership champion's winning formula. "It doesn't matter the player, his name, his status, his history," the manager said on the Chelsea official website. "It doesn't matter because the team will always come first." While German captain Ballack has previously said that he has no fears about joining a star-laden side, Mourinho remains staunch that there is no special treatment for any of the players.
Ballack "You can have Pele, Maradona, you can have the best ever, but the team will always be in front of players. Nothing or nobody can make me change my belief in this," he said. Chelsea recently shelled out £30 million for the Ukrainian striker Shevchenko, but Mourinho insisted that rank on the team comes from performance not name recognition, or price tag. "My decisions will be for the team, not for the players and Sheva, Ballack, all of them, at the moment I make my choices, I forget their status," he added.
