Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina had their match-fixing penalties cut by the Arbitration Court of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), while AC Milan failed in their appeal. The four clubs had their penalties reduced before but another successful appeal saw three of them handed a further boost. Juventus, who were originally demoted to Serie B and docked 30 points, had their 17-point penalty cut to nine, while Lazio's 11-point handicap was reduced to three. Juventus leapfrogged to 12th place of the Serie B table with 10 points and Lazio became level with Milan on seven points in the Serie A. Fiorentina remained in the 19th place of the top division on zero points after their 19-point penalty was cut to 15. Milan's 8-point deduction has not changed as the Italian giants' appeal was turned down by CONI. The sentences are expected to be the final decisions to bring down the curtain on the match-fixing scandal that rocked Italian football.
