Chelsea have demanded more investigation to be run in the incidents that occurred during their game with Reading and resulted in injuring keepers Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini. "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that we have written letters to the Premier League (FAPL) and the Football Association (FA) regarding a number of observations that arose from the match at Reading on October 14," the club said. "As this was a Premier League match, the FAPL is the relevant authority to address the serious and legitimate questions regarding medical procedures that we have following the injuries to Cech and Cudicini. "These have been copied to the FA for their information," the Premiership champions added on their official website. Czech international Cech was stretchered off the pitch as early as the first minute after a harsh challenge by Reading forward Stephen Hunt. He needed a skull operation to heal a depressed fracture and was confirmed to be out for at least six months. Substitute goalie Cudicini was also left off unconscious in the stoppage time after a collision with Ibrahima Sonko but was released from hospital on the same night. Defender and captain John Terry put on a goalkeeper kit and covered the void for the rest of the game. Apart from the injuries, Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho was left fuming after an ambulance allegedly took 30 minutes to take Cech to hospital. Reading deny the allegations. But Chelsea said an investigation should take place to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. "We do believe they warrant further investigation, not just in terms of what happened at Reading, but also to prevent the same questions being raised if similar incidents occur in the future," the club said. Both the FA and FAPL said they will discuss the letter in due course with the latter waiting for Reading response. "We have received a letter and will respond in due course to address their concerns," an FA spokesman was quoted as saying by BBC Sport. The Premier League spokesman, on the other hand, said: "We will ask Reading for their observations and the issue will be discussed in due course by the board."
