Egypt moved up two spots in the FIFA monthly ranking to settle in the 25th place for October 2006. The Pharaohs, who only managed a goalless away draw against Botswana in their last African qualifier, benefited from the bad results that other national teams produced. The countries whose results made way for the national team to move to 25th place were Paraguay, Guinea and Colombia. Egypt is still holding top spot among the Arab nations in the FIFA ranking for the second successive month and moved one slot up to replace Guinea as 5th in Africa. Meanwhile, Brazil maintained their place at the top of the rankings while world champions Italy made a huge leap from 5th to 2nd instead of France while Argentina and England slipped one spot respectively. The most improving team this month was Barbados who jumped 52 to spots from 152nd to 100th Top 5 teams: 1- Brazil 2- Italy 3- France 4- Argentina 5- England
