Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has been ruled out of his side's UEFA Champions League clash against Bordeaux on Wednesday due to a "minor" hamstring injury. "Steven felt something in his hamstring after the Blackburn game and he is still feeling it," Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez was quoted as saying by the club's official website on Tuesday. "We have spoken with the doctor and decided it's not worth taking a risk with him and so he won't be involved in Bordeaux. I think it's just a matter of an extra couple of days and then he will be fine." Liverpool are on top of Group C with four points after a victory over Galatasaray and a draw with PSV Eindhoven. The Reds also will have to make the trip to Bordeaux without striker Robbie Fowler and Danish defender Daniel Agger through injuries while Dirk Kuyt and Mohamed Sissoko are doubtful. "I would say Momo has an eighty per cent chance of playing and Kuyt just twenty per cent," Benitez added.
