Barcelona scored two late goals to register a big 3-0 victory over Racing Santander in the Spanish League on Sunday. Last season's top scorer Samuel Eto'o notched the opener in the 18th minute with a long-range shot. As the Cameroonian star celebrated his goal, he was taunted by racist chants from the home fans. French winger Ludovic Giuly secured the victory in the 84th minute when he sidestepped three challengers and poked home. Santander goalie Tono fouled Barca's Eidur Gudjohnsen in the area and Ronaldinho converted the resulted penalty home to put the icing on the cake. The win took Barcelona tally to nine points in second spot, trailing Sevilla on goal difference.
Beckham In Sevilla, Renato's solo effort in the 84th minute gave Sevilla a hard-fought 3-2 victory over city rivals Real Betis. Frederic Kanoute scored Sevilla's two other goals while Rafael Sobis found the net twice for Betis. In Madrid, Jose Antonio Reyes and David Beckham scored for Real who eased to a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad. Reyes curled a free-kick home nine minutes past the hour mark before his substitute Beckham sealed the win in the stoppage time. Real moved up to fourth spot on seven points after third-place Valencia beat Getafe 2-0 to get their ninth point and stay level with Barca and Sevilla. Fernando Morientes, who scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 victory over Olympiakos in the Champions League midweek, put Valencia ahead in the 45th minute. Vicente added the second from the spot in the 67th minute.
