Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard was pleased with his side's 5-0 victory over competition debutant Levski Sofia as they gear up to defend their Champion's League title. "Yeah I think you have to be happy with the whole game, the result, it was a good victory," Rijkaard told Sky Sports Network. Barcelona put in a fabulous effort during the Group A opener with two goals already netted by half-time and a impressive display throughout, and Rijkaard openly acknowledged his player's efforts. "The best goal looking at it from a team point was the first one as it showed wonderful players being generous on the pitch," he said. "Samuel (Eto'o) flicked the ball to (Andres) Iniesta who scored a goal from good team play. "Individually the last goal (from Ronaldinho) was brilliant."
Ronaldinho just before scoring the fifth goal Rijkaard dismissed the buzz that Group A will be a competition between Barcelona and Chelsea for qualification, leaving the German and Bulgarian essentially out of the running. Barcelona will face Werder Bremen next and Rijkaard believes they could be a strong threat. "We know them (Werder) as we played them before and it will be a tough and interesting game," Rijkaard said. "No I don't think (it will be a two-horse race), you can't rule out Werder Bremen. It is too early to say only two teams will qualify as Werder are still participating." His sentiment was echoed by Ronaldinho, whose partnership with Samuel Eto'o is blossoming with every game, making Barcelona an even bigger threat in this competition. "We are growing more and more confident and to carry on this way is the best we can do," the Brazilian said in an interview with UEFA. "We know all the group matches will be complicated but our objective is to improve match by match."
