Egyptian coach Helmi Toulan said on Wednesday that he turned down Masri's offer to take over as head coach because the club announced sealing the deal before he gave his final word. "I was surprised to see myself as Masri coach in the newspapers, although there were some details to sort out with the club's administration," Toulan told FilGoal.com. Masri announced earlier on Tuesday the appointment of Toulan as their new coach for a monthly salary of EGP 45,000. "Media reported also that I suspended some of Masri players although I haven't arrived in Port Said yet," Toulan added. The former Zamalek coach apologized to Masri fans for letting them down, saying he was not pleased with the club's approach. Coach Mohamed Salah quit as Masri coach citing health problems although reports suggest that a dispute with club president Sayed Metwalli was the real reason behind the resignation.
