Talks regarding the extension of Ahmed Fathi's contract with Ismaili have come to a dead end after the two parties disagreed on the financial details. Ismaili offered the Egypt international an improved three-year contract worth EGP 2.4 million. Fathi, who is currently with the team in their pre-season tour of Holland, turned down the offer, his agent, Samir Al-Sayed, told FilGoal.com late on Wednesday. The 21-year-old said the terms of the contract are "unfair", especially that Ismaili included a buy-out clause worth 1 million Euros incase he receives a European offer.
Abd-Rabou Fathi asked Ismaili officials to put him in the same category as national teammate Hosni Abd-Rabou, whom the club is trying to sign for a fee of EGP 1.2 million per season. Fathi is disappointed that he is being underappreciated by Ismaili officials despite the "concessions" he made to stay with the club, Al-Sayed said. Ismaili officials are still trying to re-sign Abd-Rabou from Strasbourg who are asking for $ 1 million to release the player.
