Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' after it was confirmed he won't stay with Tottenham Hotspur, the Premiership club said on Sunday. "Mido is on a list of names that (coach) Mark (Hughes) has discussed with the board," Blackburn president John Williams was quoted as saying by Sky Sports Network. "We are trying to bring in a striker and there are four or five names on our list." The Egyptian international striker had an 18-month loan at White Hart where he scored 11 goals in the Premiership last season to lead his side to a UEFA Cup spot. Tottenham, though, decided to halt talks with AS Roma over a permanent move due to Mido's repeated injuries and weight problems. Blackburn finished fifth in England last season and are set to play in the UEFA Cup next season. If Blackburn succeeded in landing Mido, the 23-year-old forward will join Welsh striker Craig Bellamy in the attacking line.
