AC Milan club owner and outgoing Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi revealed that striker Andrei Shevchenko wants to leave the club and move to the English Premier League. "Shevchenko wants to leave, he wants to go to England," Berlusconi was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Friday. The 2004 European footballer of the year, who started his career with Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev, joined Milan in 1999 and scored over 145 goals in seven seasons, helping them to win the Serie A title as well as the UEFA Champions League and the Italian cup. However, Berlusconi's statements come to increase speculations around Sheva's future at Milan with English champions Chelsea expressing their desire to sign the Ukrainian and bring him to London although Shevchenko himself has earlier dismissed any talks about making a move to the Blues. Shevchenko is currently suffering from a knee ligament injury and is in a race against time to recuperate before Ukraine's World Cup campaign kicks-off next month. Should Shevchenko move to Chelsea, it will be the club's second blockbuster signing as they are already on course to sign German superstar Michael Ballack on a free transfer this summer.
