The Egyptian Football Association said that the Ahli-Zamalek clash on Sunday will be played in the Cairo International Stadium instead of the Military Academy. The derby was held in the Cairo Stadium in the first half of the season for the first time in three years. It was moved to the Military academy because of constructions took place in the main Stadium ahead of the African Cup of Nations. The 67,000-seater Cairo Stadium is the main venue where both of Ahli and Zamalek used to play their domestic and continental matches before it was temporarily closed in 2004. Ahli are on the brink of retaining the Egyptian title as they are in first spot on 60 points, eight ahead of rivals and second-place Zamalek with four matches to go. The first match this season ended in a goalless draw but Ahli managed to beat Zamalek twice in the African Champions League semis on their way to the trophy.
