Uganda's Football Association (UFA) have sacked Egyptian head coach Alaa Morsi on Tuesday. UFA president Lawrence Mulindwa announced the sacking of Morsi after deciding that he wont be able to lead the national team to the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana. "We have assessed him and decided he can not take us to the Nations Cup in Ghana in 2008," Mulindwa was quoted as saying by BBC on Tuesday. Morsi, who took charge of the Ugandan national team in 2004, had lead the Cranes to third place in the LG friendly tournament that took place in Cairo. Nevertheless, the Ugandan FA announced that they will appoint a new foreign coach, who they think could lead them to the 2008 African Cup. "We are definitely going to get a foreign coach who can help get us back to the Nations Cup after our last appearance in 1978," Mulindwa added. Uganda had reached the 1978 African Cup final before suffering a 2-0 defeat to hosts Ghana.
