Hilal took advantage of Ittihad after defender Adnan Falatah received his marching orders in the 87th minute, allowing the Riyadh giants to take advantage of the situation and score through Sorour in the dying seconds of the match. The result gave Hilal their 32nd point as they secure second place in the table while Ittihad moved up to 4th place on 22 points with five games in hand. Both teams fielded a second-string line up due to the Saudi national team's preparations.
