Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has signed a contract extension with the club until 2010, the Premiership Champions said on Wednesday. "We are obviously delighted that Petr has committed to Chelsea for another two years until 2010," Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon told the club's official website. "He had a fantastic season in his first year and established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world." Cech arrived at Stamford Bridge last season from French side Rennes and was instrumental in helping his club winning their first Premiership title in 50 years. The Czech Republic shot-stopper said that being offered a new deal just after 18 months with the club was a reward for his efforts in the past season. "I am very pleased, when I joined I just wanted to get in the team and win trophies," Cech said. "I managed that last season and have been rewarded with a new deal already. Now I want to win some more trophies."
