Dujkovic confident of quarter-finals berth
Published in FilGoal on 27 - 01 - 2006

Ghana boss Ratomir Dujkovic insisted that their 1-0 victory over Senegal restored their confidence and their chance to qualify to the African Cup of Nations (ACN) quarter-finals.
“I made some alterations to our tacticts after our match against Nigeria, that's why we were able to control the midfield, especially with the presence of John Mensah,” Dukovic told a press conference after the match on Friday.
“Our next match against Zimbabwe will be crucial and we will do our best to beat them and continue our African Cup campaign,” he added.
The Serbian caretaker also praised striker Matthew Amoah, who scored Ghana's winner, Jeotex Frimpong, Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston and said that they were the match's best players.

On the other hand, Senegal head coach Abdoulaye Sarr blasted the team players and said that their negative attitude towards Ghana was the reason behind their defeat.
"We just weren't aggressive enough against Ghana in the first half. We were badly organised and passive," Sarr said.
"In the end, Ghana were more enthusiastic and were faster than us. Our team was very static while either attacking or defending," he added.
Nevertheless, Sarr insisted that their campaign wasn't over and that they were going to do their best to defeat Nigeria, on the condition that the players pick up their pace and regain their previous form.
"It's not over but we now have to get the points against Nigeria. It's a game we have to win, that will be our objective."
