Strasbourg midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou sustained a thigh injury in the Ligue 1 match against Marseille on Saturday, the club said. Abd-Rabou was forced to leave the pitch in the 80th minute of Strasbourg's 1-0 defeat to Marseille after tearing a muscle in his right thigh. The injury could rule out the Egypt midfielder from representing his country in the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which will kick-off on January 20th. Strasbourg noted in a statement on its official website that the 21-year-old has traveled home for the Christmas break and will undergo further tests to determine the length of his layoff. Abd-Rabou has been an integral part of Strasbourg's French league and UEFA Cup campaigns ever since joining from Ismaili during the off-season.
