Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini said his side fully deserved their 3-2 hard fought victory over arch rivals AC Milan on Sunday. "I liked the team's performance in general. The boys played well and deserved to win," Mancini was quoted as saying by Inter's official website on Sunday. Inter Milan have snatched their first derby win over the Rossoneri since 2002, thanks to a brace by Brazilian striker Adriano and a goal from Obafemi Martins. The former Lazio boss stated that the Nerazzurri's desperation for a victory was the key factor behind the satisfying result. "Most of all I liked the team's reaction in the last seven minutes after Stam's goal. That goal could have led to a draw," he said. "But we believed and we really wanted to win. We wanted to win at all costs, we believed and we were rewarded," he added. Mancini singled out Adriano for praise after netting twice while expressing his hope that Inter can be real competitors to Juventus in the Serie A title race. "He's in much better form. Today was proof that if the team plays and the strikers score, you can't not win. Adri scored two goals today and Martins scored one. Let's hope they continue like this," he said. "Juventus deserve to be at the top of the table at the moment because they have won many matches. But there are still many matches to go from now until the end of the championship. "Everything will be decided at the end, but comebacks are possible. Our goal is to continue winning, and we will see where we are at the halfway point. If Juventus slow up we will have to take advantage," he added.
