Zamalek succumbed to a stunning 2-0 home defeat to ENPPI in a fiery top-of-the-table clash. Hosts ENPPI took the a 61st minute lead through striker Mahmoud Kaoud, ten minutes before Mohamed Nassef converted a penalty that caused tension on and off the pitch. As Zamalek players protested against the decision, controversial chairman Mortada Mansour appeared to be asking the managing staff to forfeit the match from the stands. The Whites were also furious as they had a couple of goals disallowed in the game. More action followed when ENPPI substitute Mohamed Youness was booked twice in five minutes to go off. Finally, Zamalek sub Ahmed Eid missed a dubious injury-time penalty that was superbly thwarted by ENPPI goalkeeper Ali Lotfi. who also blocked the rebound from Khaled Kamar.
