Ahmed Elmohamady scored Hull City's first-ever European goal as the English side qualified for the Europa League final qualifying round. Following a 0-0 first-leg draw at Slovakia's Trencin, Hull claimed a 2-1 home win despite going behind early on. Egypt wing-back Elmohamady scored the equalizer as Nigerian forward Sone Aluko won the match for the Tigers ten minutes from time. Elsewhere, Ahmed Hassan Koka's Rio Ave also joined Hull to the final playoffs after drawing 0-0 with Goteborg. The Portuguese side go through thanks to Egypt striker Koka's first-leg winner.
