Striker Ahmed Abdul-Zaher has been suspended by Ahli as he is set to be investigated over his four-finger 'Rabaa' sign goal-celebration in the 2-0 Champions League final return-leg win over Orlando Pirates, the Reds' website said. After scoring Ahli's second goal, Abdul-Zaher celebrated with the controversial 'Rabaa' gesture - which refers to the violent clearance of two Muslim Brotherhood sit-ins that left hundreds killed back in August. As a result, he has been suspended by the club's football committee that said he will not be receiving his wages pending investigation over the incident. Meanwhile, the Egyptian FA has also announced that the 28-year-old striker will be subject to another questioning. It remains to be seen what would be the fate of Abdul-Zaher, given that the political 'Rabaa' gesture is unwelcomed by the Egyptian government following the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi four months ago. Two weeks ago, Egyptian Kung Fu athlete Mohamed Youssef was banned and investigated by the sport's federation for making a similar salute following his victory in a major championship in Russia.
