Ghana have been dealt a blow with the news that regular center-half Jonathan Mensah will miss next month's World Cup qualifying playoff against Egypt in Kumasi. Mensah, who plays for Ligue 1 side Evian, will be sidelined for six weeks after being forced off the pitch during Saturday's league game against Bordeaux. "Results from tests on my injury reveals I will be out for 6 weeks. Bad timing but staying strong. Off for treatment!" Mensah said via his official Twitter account. The 23-year-old's injury leaves manager Kwesi Appiah with limited options at the back as Ghana already miss veteran Isaac Vorsah with a long-term injury. The Black Stars, who have also lost key midfielder Mohamed Rabiu due to injury, host Egypt on October 15 as the return leg takes place a month later.
