The Egyptian FA has suggested staging the Champions League clash between city rivals Zamalek and Ahli at Gouna Stadium in Hurghada after authorities refused to allow the fixture take place in either Cairo or Alexandria, according to the Whites' website. Amid the ongoing political unrest in Egypt, the Ministry of Interior rejected holding the game – which is to be staged behind closed doors on July 21 – in one of the country's two main cities, as the FA proposed playing it at Gouna Stadium which has no lights. Zamalek, the match hosts, do not seem satisfied with the game being staged at noon during the fasting hours of the holy month of Ramadan. "Playing at noon while fasting is a very difficult option for us," Zamalek assistant manager Osama Nabih told the club's website. "It is difficult because we need at least to hold two training sessions on the stadium's pitch at the same timing. "This means that players would need to break their fasting before training and before playing the game. They won't accept it. "But given the ongoing circumstances, that's the best option available for the meantime as we will have to cope with it." The domestic league has been almost called off due to the lingering security concerns and the turbulent conditions in Egypt.
