Ex-Egypt manager Hassan Shehata has been appointed as technical advisor by former Bundesliga champions 1860 Munich. The Zamalek legend arrived in Munich on Saturday and is set to begin his work with the Bundesliga 2 club, who were recently rescued by Jordanian tycoon Hasan Ismaik. “I came here to help the club get promoted next season," Shehata told reporters. “I still need to form an image of the team though as I honestly don't know any of the players." Businessman Ismaik, who bought a 49% ownership stake, is believed to be the man behind the decision to hire Shehata. Managed by Alexander Schmidt, 1966 Bundesliga champions Munich 1860 are currently sixth in the second division and have no hope of winning promotion this season.
